General Insurance Code of Practice
The Insurance Council of Australia Limited has developed the General Insurance Code of Practice (the Code), which is a voluntary self-regulatory code.
The Code sets out the standards that general insurers must meet when providing services to their customers.
Chubb Insurance Australia Limited, the insurer for the insurance product referred to on this website, is a signatory to the Code. Berkley Insurance Australia, the insurer for the insurance products referred to on this website, has adopted the Code. For further information on the Code please visit codeofpractice.com.au.
The Code Governance Committee (CGC) is an independent body that monitors and enforces insurers’ compliance with the Code. For more information on the CGC go to insurancecode.org.au.
The Code is intended to be a positive influence across all aspects of the general insurance industry including product disclosure, claims handling and investigations, relationships with people who are experiencing vulnerability and reporting obligations.
